A Wild Last Boss Appeared! is set to return for its second season, with the production team confirming an early digital debut. Fans can catch the premiere on the ABEMA and U-NEXT services starting September 26 at 10:30 p.m., nearly a week before the series begins its terrestrial broadcast on Tokyo MX on October 3.
A newly released promotional video highlights the expansion of the cast, introducing Akio Ōtsuka as Leon, Atsushi Miyauchi as Sagittarius, and Shūhei Sakaguchi as Melcrius. These additions join a previously announced roster that includes Ryōta Suzuki, Chiaki Takahashi, and Takahiro Sakurai. The trailer also provides a first look at the series' new ending theme, "Yurete Skirt" by Chakura, while the opening theme, "Melodic Impact," is performed by the rock band Suspended 4th.
Returning director Yūya Horiuchi is back at the helm at studio Wao World, joined by series scriptwriter Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and composer TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND. While the core creative team remains consistent with the first season, the production has expanded its character design department, bringing in Akiko Satō to work alongside returning designer Maiko Ebisawa and a team of chief animation directors.
Based on the light novel series by Firehead and YahaKo, the franchise has maintained a steady following with 1.4 million copies in circulation. With the second season picking up the story of the awakened overlord Lufas Mafarl, the shift to a multi-platform release strategy mirrors the rollout of the first season, which also saw a staggered debut between streaming services and traditional television.
