The fantasy series A Returner's Magic Should Be Special is set to return for its second season on October 7. The announcement arrived alongside a fresh promotional video and key visual, highlighting the next phase of Desir Herman’s mission to rewrite history and prevent the world's collapse. The trailer also provides a first listen to the new opening theme, "Sorrow," performed by the rock band FLOW.

Production continuity remains a priority, with director Taishi Kawaguchi returning to lead the project at Arvo Animation. The core creative team, including scriptwriter Takamitsu Kouno and composer Kenta Higashiohji, is also back to maintain the series' tone. The voice cast will see Takuma Terashima, Sayumi Suzushiro, Natsumi Fujiwara, and Asami Seto reprising their roles, with Show Hayami and Ayako Kawasumi joining the ensemble as Jord Exarion and Priscilla Heisilkeite, respectively.

Following its Japanese broadcast on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block, the series will be available for international audiences via Crunchyroll. The first season, which debuted in October 2023, currently holds an 86/100 rating on Kitsu as of September 9. With the production staff firmly in place, the primary question for viewers is how the adaptation will balance the expansion of the Shadow World arc against the established character dynamics from the first season.
