A Returner's Magic Should Be Special Season 2 is set to premiere in October, with the rock band FLOW returning to perform the opening theme song. Titled "Sorrow," the track was created specifically for the new season.
The anime will broadcast on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block, airing Wednesdays at 24:45 (effectively Thursdays at 12:45 a.m.). Ahead of the new season's debut, the first season will be re-aired on Fuji TV and Kansai TV beginning this July.
The series follows magician Desir Herman, who is sent back thirteen years in time after humanity's near-annihilation by the Shadow World. Given a second chance, Desir must gather his allies to prevent the greatest catastrophe in history. The first season of the anime, produced by Aniplex, premiered in October 2023 and was streamed internationally by Crunchyroll.
The web comic, originally from Usonan and illustrated by Wookjakga, began its run on Kakao Page in September 2016. Yen Press publishes the series in English.
