The revenge-themed webtoon A Mark Against Thee is transitioning from digital panels to the stage. Live Contents Group confirmed that a full-length musical reading is set for October 5 at the Sowol Art Hall in Seoul. This development follows a 2024 showcase of the production's first act and marks the project's inclusion in the 2026 Large-Scale Musical Reading Performance Support Program.
Written by gotaeho and serialized between 2019 and 2021, the story centers on Yeop, a man who spent 17 years on death row for a crime he did not commit. Upon his exoneration and release, he discovers that his former life has vanished, prompting a cold, calculated quest for retribution against those responsible for his imprisonment. The series has found a wide audience, accumulating over 100 million views across its run.
In addition to the musical project, the property is expanding into cinema. A live-action film adaptation is currently in production, helmed by director Young-joo Byun and featuring a cast that includes Jung-min Park and Hyun-jung Go. With both a stage and screen adaptation in the works, the original webtoon remains available for readers via the English-language WEBTOON platform.
