BOMHAT, the creator behind the fantasy adventure manga A Kingdom of Quartz, is launching a new series titled Coquette. The new work will debut on Kodansha's Comic Days platform this Thursday at noon Japan Standard Time (Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. EDT).
Coquette centers on Cosette, a ballet dancer who has dedicated her life to the art but struggles to achieve a soloist position. Her world is shaken when a charismatic influencer named Laura joins her ballet school, introducing unexpected changes to her routine.
BOMHAT's previous series, A Kingdom of Quartz, concluded its run in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine in December 2024. The original English-written manga began serialization in December 2022, with its fifth and final volume released in Japan in April 2025. Kodansha USA is also publishing the series in English, with the fifth volume hitting shelves on June 9.
