Nijiiro no Rinne (Rainbow-Colored Reincarnation), the next film in the Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 project, will premiere in Japanese theaters on October 30. Bandai Namco Filmworks unveiled the title and a teaser visual by concept artist Kia Asamiya on Friday.
The Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199 series is being released as seven individual films, with Crunchyroll streaming the anime internationally. This new film follows the sixth installment, Aoi Meikyū (Blue Labyrinth), which opened on June 26.
Directed by Naomichi Yamato and supervised by Harutoshi Fukui, who also serves as head writer, the series continues the saga following Uchū Senkan Yamato 2205: Aratanaru Tabidachi - Kōshō -STASHA-. The project features returning staff including character designer Nobuteru Yūki and composers Akira Miyagawa and Shū Kanematsu, with music also credited to the late original composer Hiroshi Miyagawa.
The Space Battleship Yamato franchise, known for its sci-fi space opera themes and military action, holds a 7.53 score on MyAnimeList.
