The second live-action film based on the Mr. Osomatsu manga has debuted at number three in the Japanese box office. In its first three days, the movie sold 141,000 tickets and grossed 218,240,200 yen, equivalent to about $1.35 million USD.
The film's release was previously delayed from its original January 9 date. This postponement was attributed to unspecified circumstances and was reportedly influenced by the October 4 arrest of Keita Richard Kusama, the actor portraying Jushimatsu and a former member of the idol group Ae! Group, on suspicion of indecent exposure. Ae! Group also performs the film's theme song, "Dekoboko Life."
Directed by Taisuke Kawamura and scripted by Takayuki Takuma, this sequel follows the first live-action Mr. Osomatsu film, which opened in March 2022 and starred members of the idol group Snow Man. The original anime series, which gained significant popularity, has spawned multiple seasons and films.
