The full trailer and visual for the 20th-anniversary Sgt. Frog film, Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō Fukkatsu Shite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu! (New Sgt. Frog the Movie: The Earth Is in Mortal Peril as Soon as We Come Back!), have been unveiled. The trailer reveals additional cast members, including Jesse from the idol group SixTONES, who will voice both new characters Aruru and Deruru. These brothers hail from the planet Keron and appear to have a past connection to Sgt. Frog's unit.
The trailer also previews the film's theme song, "Kashippanashi Destiny," performed by the artist ano. The film is set to premiere in Japan on June 26. Yūichi Fukuda, known for his work on live-action adaptations like Gintama, is serving as supervising director and scriptwriter. The anime itself is directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki at Bandai Namco Pictures, with Satoshi Koike handling character design.
Adding to the excitement, an all-new Sgt. Frog television anime series, titled Keroro Gunsō ☆, is slated for a Fall 2026 debut. Notably, this new TV series will feature a completely new cast, while the upcoming film will retain the franchise's established voice actors. The original Sgt. Frog anime, based on Mine Yoshizaki's manga, originally aired from 2004 to 2011 and spawned five previous films. Discotek Media has been releasing the series on Blu-ray in North America since 2021.
