The 20th-anniversary film Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō Fukkatsu Shite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu! has expanded its guest voice cast with the addition of several popular idol group members. Keigo Satō from JO1 and Yūsei Yagi from FANTASTICS will both voice characters named Shibuya Man, while Rina Watanabe of Hinatazaka46 takes on the role of Shibuya Woman.
Jesse, a member of the idol group SixTONES, is set to voice two new characters, brothers Aruru and Deruru, who hail from the planet Keron and share a past connection with Sgt. Frog's platoon. Singer ano and comedian Soshina, who are performing the film's opening theme song "Mata Kaettekita KERO! to MARCH," will also make guest appearances. ano is lending her voice to a researcher robot, and Soshina will portray a "man in Shibuya."
Directed by Fumitoshi Oizaki with Yūichi Fukuda overseeing as director and scriptwriter, the film is set to premiere in Japan on June 26. In addition to the film, a brand-new Sgt. Frog television anime series, titled Keroro Gunsō ☆, is slated for a Fall 2026 debut with an entirely new cast. The original Sgt. Frog anime series, which ran from 2004 to 2011, spawned five films and has been re-released on Blu-ray by Discotek Media.
