The 20th anniversary Sgt. Frog film, titled Shin Gekijōban ☆ Keroro Gunsō Fukkatsu Shite Sokkō Chikyū Metsubō no Kiki de Arimasu!, has revealed that musical artists ano and Soshina will not only perform the movie's theme songs but also voice characters within it. ano will portray a researcher robot, while Soshina takes on the role of a "man in Shibuya." The film's opening theme is "Mata Kaettekita KERO! to MARCH," and ano will also sing the "Kashippanashi Destiny" theme. Comedian Shinobu Hasegawa has been tapped to narrate the project.

JESSE from the idol group SixTONES is lending his voice to the new characters Aruru and Deruru, described as brothers from planet Keron with a potential connection to Sgt. Frog's original unit. The film is helmed by supervising director and scriptwriter Yūichi Fukuda, with Fumitoshi Oizaki directing the animation at Bandai Namco Pictures. Satoshi Koike serves as character designer.

The Sgt. Frog movie is set to premiere in Japan on June 26. This cinematic release is accompanied by the announcement of an all-new television anime series, Keroro Gunsō ☆, scheduled to debut in Fall 2026. While the upcoming film will feature the established voice cast from the franchise, the new TV series will introduce a completely new cast.

The original Sgt. Frog anime, based on Mine Yoshizaki's manga, originally aired from 2004 to 2011. Discotek Media has been releasing the complete series on Blu-ray since 2021, covering all 358 episodes. The franchise previously spawned five feature films.
