The upcoming 33rd film in the Crayon Shin-chan series, titled Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon, will feature guest voice roles from Runa Nakagawa and Noel Hayase, members of the idol group FRUITS ZIPPER. The duo, who also perform the current TV anime theme song "Hacha Mecha Wacha life!", have been appointed as "Spooky Monster Booster Team" members to promote the film, though their specific character roles remain unrevealed.
The plot follows the Nohara family as they travel to Hiroshi's hometown in Akita for a fireworks festival. An incident involving escaped yōkai from their own realm disrupts the festivities, prompting the family to journey into the mysterious and nostalgic land of yōkai for an unpredictable adventure. The film also features Sairi Itō as Yako, a nine-tailed fox yōkai, and Sakamoto as a Squid Yōkai who challenges Shin-chan to a baseball game.
Directed by Masaki Watanabe with scripts by Yoshiko Nakamura, the movie is produced by Shinei Animation, TV Asahi, ADK Emotions, and Futabasha, with TOHO handling distribution. Singer TOMOO will perform the film's theme song "Otona ni Nattara". The 33rd 2D animated Crayon Shin-chan film is scheduled to premiere in Japan on July 31. The long-running franchise also recently saw the premiere of a spinoff manga adaptation, Nohara Hiroshi Hirumeshi no Ryūgi, on TV Asahi.
